Elk River is a Cigna Network Provider

Cigna shares our belief that mental health is equally as important as physical health

Elk River now Network Provider for Cigna

January 08, 2016

Elk River Treatment Program (ERTP) for adolescents is now an in-network provider for Cigna, a global health service leader dedicated to helping people improve their health, well-being and sense of security. "Cigna shares our belief that mental health is equally as important as physical health,” said Karen Lee who founded ERTP in 2006.

The core principles of ERTP and Cigna align in providing the most effective treatment available for struggling teens and their families. Leaders of both companies believe that effective mental health and substance use disorder treatment is a cornerstone to driving holistic health and well-being. “Cigna’s determination to make high quality mental health care accessible to everyone,” Lee said, “leads to more adolescents receiving mental health care. The probability of long-term success increases dramatically if issues or disorders are diagnosed and appropriated treated at an early age,” Lee said.

Staffed by a multidisciplinary treatment team under the leadership of a child and adolescent forensic psychiatrist, ERTP provides the developmental, emotional, physical and educational needs of its clients in one central location. ERTP provides these multiple dimensions of care and delivers the most appropriate, effective and individualized treatment for each client. ERTP ensures a safe, client-centered, timely, efficient and equitable treatment experience. Strong emphasis is placed on family therapy and coaching in addition to individual and group therapy.

Among ERTP’s professional staff are experienced mental health providers, a full medical staff and state-certified educators that collaborate to provide its clients with a holistic approach to treatment.

ERTP accepts boys and girls from age 12 to 18. Our typical client presents with a dual diagnosis of substance use and one or more mental health challenges including, but not limited to:
ADD
ADHD
Depression
Anxiety
Defiance
Out of control anger
Grief
Loss
Abandonment
Adoption issues
Family dysfunction

Not all of our clients have issues with alcohol or substance use, therefore treatment plans are individualized to meet the unique needs of each child. ERTP provides evaluations, assessments, testing, therapy, medical care and education at one central location. A high rate of success has been achieved using this integrated approach to adolescent treatment.

ERTP is also an in-network provider for Optum and Value Options Commercial insurance. We also accept out-of-network insurance and private pay. Unfortunately, ERTP is not a provider for Medicaid.

ERTP is licensed by the State of Alabama Department of Youth Services and is accredited in Behavioral Health Care by The Joint Commission. Its comprehensive academic program for grades 6 - 12 is accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancED).
