White Named Campus Director

Huntsville, AL - January 8, 2020 - Richard (Rick) White, Jr. has been named Campus Director for Elk River Treatment Program, the residential treatment program of Pinnacle Behavioral Health, Inc., based in Huntsville, AL. “Rick has committed his life to helping thousands of students overcome adversity and achieve their educational goals,” said Karen Lee, President and CEO of Pinnacle Behavioral Health, Inc. “He is a dedicated advocate for the under-served and misunderstood,” Lee added, “which made him a perfect fit for our organization. He quickly became one of our top leaders.”

Since 2006, Elk River Treatment Program has been committed to providing individualized behavioral health care and education programs for adolescents ages 12 to 18. Rick joined the company in 2014 and fostered the growth of Pinnacle’s alternative school (RAISE) and Pinnacle Private Academy.

As Academic Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal, Rick developed individualized academic plans for students as they transferred to and from the residential program. He worked with school counselors throughout the country to ensure a smooth transition for each student. His tireless work with at-risk students and their parents helped graduate hundreds who were on the fast track to drop out of school.

In 2017 he was promoted to Director of Education and assumed the responsibility of supervising teachers in all programs as well as the collection and aggregation of all data related to corporate educational services. Rick supervises corporate compliance with AdvancED accreditation and Joint Commission standards.

Rick earned a B.A. in Political Science at Samford University; a B.A. in History with 6 – 12 Education Endorsement at Athens State University; a M.Ed. School Counseling Grades P – 12 at the University of West Alabama; and Certification in Education Leadership at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

The Campus Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring quality of services delivered and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Campus Director is responsible for administrative oversight of the program, as well as development, training and supervision of direct care and support staff.
