Elk River Treatment Program (ERTP) provides evidenced-based, therapeutic treatment and education in a safe, residential setting. Our typical patient is between the ages of 12 and 18 and have been challenged with behavior, learning or mental health difficulties at home and/or school. These problems are sometimes intensified by alcohol and/or substance abuse and fall under a dual diagnosis. ERTP’s caring, professional staff assists young people in identifying and correcting self-defeating behaviors and destructive decision-making. It's an extremely rewarding career that presents life-changing transformations in a relatively short period of time.

Supervisor - Direct Care Staff

The Direct Care Supervisor is responsible for oversight, supervision, and guidance of direct care staff at our 60- bed residential treatment program for adolescents. The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the implementation of the behavior management system, the daily schedule, and safety of the program.  Supervisors carry out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan of Elk River Treatment Program. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential treatment and supervision.  

Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in the treatment industry and one year supervisory experience.  A Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Services field is preferred. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervision of the direct care staff in a residential, therapeutic program for boys and girls, ages 12 – 18, with emotional, behavioral, psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
  • Responsible for assisting in the training and supervision of direct care staff.
  • Promotes health, safety and confidentiality of individuals served.    
  • Responsible for assisting with the implementation of the behavioral management system, daily schedule and supervision of residents.
  • Provides on call and emergency response support.

Direct Care Staff

We are seeking highly motivated, energetic and qualified staff for our Elk River Treatment Program for adolescents. Treatment Team focus is on cognitive behavioral therapy within a client focused family therapy system. Positions needed: Direct Care staff. Requirements: Bachelors level degree in Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, or related field. Training/ benefits/Proven history of excellent staff retention.

Registered Nurse

Part-time or Full-time positions available at our residential behavioral healthcare facility. You'll see remarkable transformations while working with 12 to 18 year old boys and girls that arrive to treatment struggling with behavioral, learning and/or substance abuse issues that have negatively impacted their lives. The RN provides healthcare, wellness and medical services as an active member of our multi-disciplinary treatment team. Requirements include RN license or certification and two years experience.


We are seeking Highly Qualified English and Math teachers for our residential campus in North Alabama. Learning plans are individualized for our students and they complete work at an independent workstation with close supervision of teachers and direct care staff. At times students may work at their own pace, but receive one-on-one instruction as needed. Elk River Treatment Program provides for its resident/students in grades 6 - 12 an AdvancED/SACS accredited curriculum.

Night Shift Staff

We are seeking highly motivated, energetic and qualified staff for the night shift of our residential therapeutic program for adolescents. Shifts are from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Requirements: High School Diploma. Training provided. Proven history of excellent staff retention.
